0 out of 5 stars Thankfully Amazon cleared that up quickly. The product was delivered dented on the side. As for the actual cooking. Don't buy if you use white bread and want to toast. The lowest setting will blacken every time, and it's very uneven (see image of toast from lowest setting). You can get away with toasting heavier breads like bagels, English muffins, but anything light and airy will burn. Haven't tried pizza, but I don't plan to as the uneven cooking will probably be even more pronounced. Overall the oven is a bit slow to heat, the convection fan is very low, can't really be called a toaster oven in any literal sense and is pretty over priced since it missed the mark on these basic things. If you want a mini oven this may be an OK option for you. Didn't hit the mark for me though, and very uneven cooking. It's the stove. Oh well. Very spacious little convection oven with a glass touch screen (basic) but no knobs. Effortless, no glaring lights constantly or jarring buzzers. This unit has a light inside like a full sized oven. Others I've had didn't and it made the process of cooking less of a guessing game. You have a nice view of the action. Good accessories. I've made two roasts so far and the edges were nice and browned while the middle stayed pink. This model also allows for a high temperature setting while rotisserie is running. Only concern so far (and this could just be me not tying it up right) seemed to rotate, pause at the top, then rotate. The other model I didn't like seemed to have stronger more consistent motion. It hasn't affected my results.Too small, not enough features, etc. On our forth try we found this one. We've had it for a little over a month, and it has performed beautifully! It burns everything. You can’t cook in 5 degree increments only ten. And it overheats constantly. The iven rack constantly fall out of place to the bottom. Baking is a joke! Even pizzas burn on top before the niddle is cooked and the crust wstill raw.http://finadev-groupe.com/userfiles/descus-i-user-manual.xmlI thought that a digital oven would be exactly accurate. Silly Me! This Emerson oven is wildly inaccurate. Examples: 1. I have the oven set for 180F with the bottom heat element (no convection), but the heat does not come on and the actual temperature is 90F (see picture). The oven does not show the temperature blinking which means it thinks it is fully preheated. Weirdly, the oven knows something is wrong, and after 5 min it gave me an “E-3” error which means the temperature is less than 95F (see picture). 2. I have the oven set for 150F convection, but the measured temperature cycles from as much as 230F (see picture) down to 145F. 3. I have the oven set for 230F convection, but the measured temperature cycles from as much as 271F (see picture) down to 225F. 4. I have turned on the Fermentation setting which is supposed to be 100F convection, but the measured temperature cycles from as much as 118F (see picture) down to 95F. This a little too hot for proofing bread. Furthermore, although the manual thinks that this setting is good for yogurt, the oven only allows for 3 hours incubation time.Got a steel rotisserie basket which fits in this toaster, and using the rotisserie function can roast up to 1lb of green beans at a time. This is a great oven too, it’s definitely bigger than the Cuisinart, which could be good or bad depending on if you have the counter space. Since the water chamber is now sitting inside the door, it needs a lot more space to open up. But you could fit more food inside the oven. As a supplementary oven that can steam, I didn’t need the extra space inside, but since it could still fit in my counter, it’s ok. As far as the user friendliness goes, it could use a little work. The oil drip tray is seriously hard to remove. And the bake tray is also hard to take out when using oven mitts. Since everything that comes out needs oven mitts, that’s a serious inconvenience.http://superbia.lgbt/flotaganis/1653247283 Compared to the Cuisinart, which had a catch to catch the rack when you pull it out, there would be very few accidents. On the Emerson, I have to readjust to very gently pull out the rack by only a quarter otherwise, my food would fly all over the place. The good: the steam function is much better than the Cuisinart and the Panasonic I used before that. The Emerson has a small steam valve in front of the door, which allows it to produce and expel much more steam. I could barely ever use the steam function on the Cuisinart except to reheat some things. To try to steam raw food is a nightmare. The Emerson is a real steamer replacement.Although it’s on the upper price level, but you get what you pay forIn order to navigate out of this carousel please use your heading shortcut key to navigate to the next or previous heading. So grab a cup of coffee, friend and let’s chat about your basic toaster oven settings. If you select the “Cookies” setting, your toaster oven doesn’t know if you’re making mini chocolate chip cookies or giant sandwich-sized ones. Usually, the top elements are also on but using a much lower wattage than the bottom elements. Depending on the size, it will preheat 30 to 50 faster than a traditional oven. Until you get used to baking with your toaster oven, begin checking on your dishes about 5 to 10 minutes earlier than the shortest cook time listed on your recipe. To even out browning and baking, rotate your pan halfway through the bake time. For directions on using your specific toaster oven, please refer to your manual. Remember to reset the timer for the full cooking time after preheating. With the broil setting your toaster oven uses direct radiant heat from only the top elements. During broiling, the bottom elements will be off. Tim and I don’t eat meat but I hear it’s pretty popular for steak and seafood too. If you want to cook or brown both sides of an item, make sure to flip it. Toaster ovens do not make the best toast. At least, I’ve yet to use a toaster oven that made toast as well as a stand-alone toaster. That said, our little ovens toast good-enough for us. While digital toaster ovens usually have a pre-programmed high temperature that is not displayed. For the best results, refer to your manual for the appropriate rack position. The toaster oven will then automatically adjust the cooking time depending on your selections. Pressing it will add an additional 15 seconds per slice for defrosting. The exact time will depend on your tastes, type of bread, the number of slices, and your toaster oven. It could be as low as 2 minutes and 30 seconds or as high as 5 minutes. You can even mark it on the toaster oven if you want. Also, since the heat is only coming from the top elements it might not toast or brown the bread evenly. But once you get used to your little oven you’ll be cooking up all kinds of tasty treats and yummy meals. If you want to give broiling or toasting a try treat yourself to a tasty batch of Cinnamon Toast or Broiled Zucchini or Summer Squash. Also has convection. Is that better than not. Right rack, setting and doesn’t make any difference what darkness setting. UGH. I bought mine at BBB. Would love to buy one. Thanks Both elements go off and on at the same time. Any thoughts? This is our 2nd one (both did the same thing) and we’re thinking it’s just defective. Thanks! It is entirely possible both elements are heating with the same amount of power. In that case, it’s more like the toast setting and will probably cook much faster than expected. It’s got a small rack for cooking the protein, the rack fits into the cookie sheet or the roasting pan to catch any juices and liquids released during cooking. I get the idea that you need to put it right on the wires so the bottom will toast, but then cheese always falls off and makes a big mess on the bottom. It makes cleanup super easy. You can see a few options near the top of this post: The problem is those dimensions are usually only from the top to bottom, once you take into account the heating elements and the rack placement the available space gets a lot smaller.
