Internal Optic has been cleaned to ensure the highest possible imaging quality. Featuring a native resolution of XGA 1024 x 768, this Sharp multimedia projector provides outstanding visual clarity and image sharpness. You can view clear images with this remote-controlled DLP projector, even with bright lights, thanks to its brightness of 2500 ANSI lumens. With an audible noise of 32 dB, this Sharp multimedia projector lets you enjoy a quiet operation. What’s more, with a high contrast ratio of 2000:1, the Sharp XR-32X projector delivers sharp and crystal clear images. Very easy to use and configure. The picture quality is great. I'm running my Blu-Ray Player through it and enjoying crystal clear 1080p via the DVI input. This is a highly recommended projector. My lone complaint is not so much about the product itself, but more a buyer beware pitfall that I fell in due to my haste. I expected to be able to use this projector in conjunction with my Denon AVR 1910 receiver to enjoy not only 1080p video quality, but also the latest and greatest HD audio quality, i.e. DTS Master Audio, Dolby True HD, etc. Because the interface for video with the projector is DVI, one needs to purchase a HDMI to DVI adapter. When you connect it that way, the receiver picks up the DVI signal and cuts the audio out of the HDMI. So as a r esult, I can only enjoy Dolby Digital and standard DTS. It still sounds great, but I had really hoped to enjoy the cutting edge audio. If I had known this beforehand, I would have waited and gotten a projector with HDMI inputs. Oh well, my fault! Nevertheless, this is a great projector. The Sharp XR-32X has a great picture. The focus and intensity of the picture are stunning and the unit is well made. It has more than adequate brightness for some contrast enhancing screen techniques that can be used such as making your screen out of darken cloth versus white white. I then did something that I don't think anybody has ever done.So Using a darker material I found about 40 of the light would pass thru the material. I took some streetglo reflective sheeting www.streetglo.net and atta ched the back side of this material to the back side of the screen. On the back side of the streetglo sheeting is the bare reflector base that is used on road signs and other outdoor reflectors like stop sings, miles to destination, etc. It's way too reflective to use as a screen but on the back side of this medium grey t-shirt material the projector light hits the cloth, lights it up,then does a 2nd extra bright reflection off the streetglo vinyl backing. I would describe this as an interactive reflector. The grey gives the good blacks and the streetglo vinyl gives a bright boost. I ended up with a screen you could watch TV on in daylight with the blinds in the window open and the projector still in economy mode. I wrote a lenghty article about this at a place called Home Theatre Spot but you'll have to search for it. There are pictures there of both the projector and it's function in my bar room. You can see both a daylight shot and a night shot of the unit. It looked fantastic but in the day we had to all but paint our windows black. Since I'm retired I am home in the day and like to watch tv whenever I want. However even with that extra expense it is a better screen than the very pricey and professional high gain models selling for almost a thousand bucks. Getting back to the projector, Sharp is barely known in the home theatre circles. Some internet stores tried to talk me out of buying this model claiming it's not an hd unit or that it can't do wide screen. It does wide screen and it fills the screen as it should, and it's great HD. You will be tickled pink with this projector. It is a decently small size but plays a great picture. Cons: gets really hot, no HDMI, no carrying case. Pros: great picture,1080p resolution, has speakers, HDTV ready, super bright. I would recommend this projector any day to anyone. This projector is bright enough to play in the day with minimal light control. Of course you want to take out direct sunlight but it doesnt have to be a lightless cave. It combines light weight with great picture and brightness. Lamp life is average for the industry at 2000 hours. It replaces my 2001 Sharpvision model which is huge and far less capable. I wish it had HDMI connectivity but I've been told I can buy an adapter the interfaces with the DVI input. Verisign. Unfortunately, your browser doesn't support these improvements. OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) lamps are produced by the projector manufacturer and are identical to the lamps supplied originally with the projector. The majority of projector manufacturers will use bulbs from the world leading bulb manufacturers (e.g. Philips, Osram, Ushio etc.) and fit them in their own modules to produce the complete lamps. These lamps are produced to a very high standard and in a controlled environment, ensuring that the end user will benefit from the best performance possible. All OEM lamps are supplied with the 3 month manufacturer warranty.Original lamps supplied by the manufacture of the projector or rear-projection TV are usually the most expensive, but offer the replacement lamp buyer reassurance on issues such as continuing warranty protection. Genuine replacement lamps are made by a small number of authorised manufacturers. For example, Philips has authorised Diamond Lamps to make replacement lamp modules using genuine UHP technology. The manufacturers save costs in a variety of ways, none of which are generally favourable to lamp module buyers Some of these have excellent credentials, often linked to an established audio-visual or consumer electronics business, while others are simply opportunistic. Helpful signs of a quality supplier include relationships with projector manufacturers, such as authorised dealer status, or a specialist replacement lamp distributor.
